Tamron Trinity to Sony E-mount

Tamron is one of my absolute favorite brands when it comes to lenses for my Sony Alpha cameras; a7III and a7RIV. Undoubtedly. They are my absolute go-to lenses.

The series consists of tamron 17-28mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A046), 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A036), and 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A056) all sharing the same surface and design. The lenses are weather-resistant with internal rubber gaskets, and the front lens has a protective fluoride coating that repels raindrops, oil, fingerprints, and dirt and makes it easier to clean. All three lenses use 67mm filters/front cover.

I am especially fond of the Tamron 28–75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD. It's super versatile, lightweight, aperture 2.8 and then it just produces some delicious images. Including a super delicious silky bokeh and delicious highlights due to the nine aperture slats that ensure a rounded aperture.

The Tamron Trinity series also supports Sony's fast switching for manual focusing (DMF, Direct Manual Focus) and for Eye AF, which automatically sharpens the eyes. The autofocus system is based on a newly developed step engine called Rapid eXtra-Silent Stepping Drive (RXD), specially designed for the focus technology used in mirrorless system cameras. It is fast, precise as well as very quiet and therefore also works really well during video recordings.

Colombia tour with Coffee Collective and Coffee & Cameras

Next to my production company Filmplus, I have a "con-amore project" called Coffee & Cameras. I started it two years ago and work on it when there's time. The goal is to do something good for coffee farmers by telling about their work and conditions, and at the same time come out and review some cafes and their coffee around Denmark. My love of coffee brought me to Colombia with Coffee Collective. A trip to Colombia's mountains and jungle and the two coffee regions of Huila and Tolima in autumn 2019.

By then, the Tamron had launched 17-28 and 28-75mm f2.8 and I really wanted to try them. I was lucky enough to borrow them from the Danish importer Focus Nordic, where I have since become an ambassador, among others. Tamron. I chose to take the two in place of my significantly brighter Zeiss Batis primes because they were easier to use and didn't have to be changed as often when it was zoom lenses, versus primes as each is just a single focal length. It was a good choice. Because for two weeks, we're going to have to go through a lot. crawled around on blah. very steep hillsides where it was already difficult to move. Our hosts did so in the flip-flops, but it's a different story.

The Copenhagen Metro

We were in the Metro with a photo club one late night to test blah. 28-75mm and make a little video about the lens and how I use it. The image below is shot on a Sony a7RII with Tamron 28-75mm at 1/125sec and f2.8 and had to go a little fast when there was suddenly movement and the next train was coming in. This was before the corona left large parts of Copenhagen empty.

Tamron 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD

In early April and in the middle of the corona outbreak, we headed to Refhale island. There were strict requirements to keep their distance to avoid infection. With a 70-180mm lens, it's not that hard. We had the beautiful Michala Petrovna Rubinstein with us out there for a photo and video session. Refshaleøen is super fat. There are so many different places you can shoot pictures and so many different backgrounds.

High aperture and delicious bokeh

I love shooting with full opening, or highest aperture. As I've written before, I'm fully aware that you can get better sharpness by da dazzling down, but I'm often mort. I love the bokeh (blur) which I get from aperture 2.8 as it is with the three lenses in the trinity series. I was given the opportunity on Refshaleøen. All pictures below are taken on aperture 2.8
